Thank you so much to all who have given to the Mercy Fund!

Pastor Rob will be on vacation this week. If you need anything, please contact one of the Elders or Pastor Matt.

Thursday morning Ladies Bible Study meets every week at 10 a.m. in the Annex, with nursery provided up at the main building. All ladies are welcome to join us as we continue our study of Nancy Guthrie’s Jesus in the Old Testament: The Wisdom Books. Please speak to Becky Ingram at 770-317-0080 for details.

Labor Day is past and summer is over; it is time to start planning for next summer!  Please note that we have set the dates for both VBS and Cherokee in order to plan and provide better opportunity for everyone to participate.  Vacation Bible School will be June 8-12, Monday through Friday in the morning.  The Cherokee Mission Trip will be July 18-25.  Please begin praying for these ministries, and considering how the Lord is leading you to participate.

The Ladies Day Away is September 28th from 9:00am - 1:00pm at the home of Janinne Abel. Margaret Frisbee will be speaking on the topic of biblical hospitality. All ladies middle-school age and up are welcome to attend. A salad buffet, sides and dessert will be provided for lunch, but a $5 donation is requested to help offset the cost of food. RSVP to Dana Little.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes: In the upcoming months we will be given opportunities to pack Shoeboxes to share Jesus' Love with children around the world.  Everyone is encouraged to participate through prayer, packing & support.  You may pack your own boxes.  You may also provide items & financial support for others packing boxes.  Empty shoeboxes will be handed out in October.

  • A group of ladies have been working together to pack 24 boxes for 10-14 yr. olds.  Shipping costs will be $216.
  • A donation of fabric has been received & sewing kits would be a great item to include.  The sewing kits will cost $103.
  • Please prayerfully consider contributing towards the $ 319 needed for the sewing kits & shipping costs.
  • Envelopes are available on the OCC Christmas Tree in the hallway and may be given to Leah in the office.

Willing Helpers Food Bank is running once again, so please drop off any donations in the basket under the table in the hallway by the 4th Sunday and we will see that they are shared with those in need.
